#60Seconds with Valmik Thapar: "Tiger count hasn't increased. We're just counting better"

We may be celebrating one of our rare environmental victories - an increase in the tiger count - but champion tiger activist, author, filmmaker and naturalist Valmik Thapar has a wry reality check in store.

According to Thapar, we may be making much ado about the tiger count.

Check out- Booker Club: we ran into Margaret Atwood and Marlon James at JLF

And Thapar should know. He's produced and narrated features on India's naturescape for various global channels such as Animal Planet, Discovery and National Geographic. He was one of the leading founders of the Ranthambore Foundation in 1998. He works, every day of his life, to protect the tiger. And he doesn't think we're doing nearly enough.

We asked him to give us a reality check. Watch.
