A day after Pratyusha Banerjee's boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh was booked by the police on grounds of abetting her suicide, Rahul's legal representative Neeraj Gupta has revealed that he has decided to back out of the case.
Following TV actress Praytusha Banerjee's suicide on 1 April, there has been a lot of speculation about what led her to take her own life. Rahul Raj Singh has been at the heart of the controversy.
Deeply affected by the tragedy, Rahul was admitted to the ICU after complaints of chest pain, and Neeraj Gupta, his erstwhile lawyer, had come out with a statement saying his client's condition was fragile.
In a curious turn of events, however, Neeraj Gupta has now declared that he will no longer be representing Rahul, stating 'humanitarian grounds' as the primary reason for his decision. He also revealed that his client and his family had not divulged certain details and facts about the case to him, and had kept him in the dark about things, thereby driving him to take this decision.
Rahul Raj Singh, who was booked by the police on 5 April, has now applied for anticipatory bail.
