NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER

A November to remember: iconic sporting moments from around the world

November has been a thrilling month in the world of sport. In the increasingly popular world of Mixed Martial Arts, Ronda Rousey, the iconic undefeated women's champion, was brutally knocked off her perch (and out cold) by Holly Holmes.

But even as the two women duked it out for the title of the world's most dangerous woman, other battles were being waged in the world of sport.

In India, the home team finally managed to salvage some pride after a hiding in limited-overs cricket. But even as India asserted their dominance in the Test format, AB de Villiers stood tall, braving the onslaught even as his team mates looked lost for ideas.

Technologically, too, there were advancements, with the Russian football team unveiling their new kit inside the world's first digital stadium. Meanwhile in tennis, Novak Djokovic cemented his place as the ATP World No.1 and Lewis Hamilton was crowned the Formula One champion.

Finally, there was the Paris tragedy, that saw shows of solidarity from across the sporting world, including golf, where Benjamin Herbert of France led the way at the BMW Masters.

With so much going on in the world of sport, it's easy to miss some iconic moments. Luckily photographs are forever.
